We thought that a timeline would accurately show the events of the Nanking Massacre and how it relates to the eight stages of genocide. My understanding of the Nanking Massacre before the project was that it was just a battle with heavy civilian casualties and became a killing of innocent people for no reason. I do not think that the Nanking Massacre has not changed my understanding of the book Night. The Massacre was something that happened over the course of six weeks while the holocaust was very long and clearly showed all eight stages of genocide. Because the two were so different that did not reinforce each other. However, they both gave information that could be used now to help stop things like prejudice and suffering. They both showed us events that led to this suffering and now we know whatnot to do and we can avoid this, if we choose to pay attention.
