18 mars 1870 - 15th Amendment
Description:
The 15th Amendment to the constitution is ratified, in theory declaring that the ""right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
In practice, it would take another century for men and women of any colour or race had the right to vote.
