Description:
The Trans-Saharan trade required traveling scross the Sahara desert to reach sub-saharan Africa from Northern Africa, Europe, to the Levant. Trade was conducted by caravans on Camels. The caravans would be guided by highly paid Berbers who knew the desert and could assure safe passage. Culture and religion would also be exchanged on this trade route.
