Description:
Trans-Saharan trade is trade which takes place across the Sahara desert. In ancient times, this was done through people stationed throughout the desert who understood how to travel and survive there. It wasn’t until the introduction of caravans utilizing camels that trade throughout the Sahara really flourished. Items brought through the area included luxury goods, materials, and foods. (2.3)
