Description:
30 BCE Augustus was the first emperor of the Roman Empire. He was known for keeping order and peace after the conversion from a republic to an empire through a period of time known as the Pax Romana. He kept the lower-classes happy by providing them with free events such as gladiator games and hunts. He provided much reform to public works by establishing better road networks, official firefighters, etc. (2.2)
