Description:
Spain influenced the Columbian independence movement by raising the taxes in colonies and the fact that the Columbian people wanted to destabilize Spain. Columbia was declared free from Spain in 1819 assisted by Simon Bolivar. After the revolution, Simon Bolivar became dictator which made Gran Columbia fall apart in 1832.
