Blockbuster was a chain of retail stores that allowed people to rent movies. It was founded by David Cook.This is significant; it meant people could watch movies for cheaper. To buy a movie outright was expensive, so a renting model meant easier consumption of film. Additionally, in-store retail staff could aid you to find something interesting and new.
