30 mars 1936 - Hudson River Crossing Incident

Description:

Canadian forces, mistaking a group of drunken Americans attempting to ferry alcohol across the Hudson on a small boat, open fire on and kill two US citizens and injure several others believing they were US Spies. Canada provides financial reimbursement to the families of those killed and injured. The Chicago Tribute labels the British as a "suspicious, interfering and outdated imperial institution".
