Description:

- Day 166
- Bob wakes up to a scream outside his apartment. He notices Megan isn't next to him and goes outside. He doesn't see the rope tied around the pillars on the landing until he gets down the stairs. He sees Megan hanging from a rope.
- Lilly wakes up to the commotion and sensed something awful has happened. She sees the Governor talking to Bob off at the side and Gabe and Bruce next to a body covered with a sheet on the pavement. Martinez comes up to Lilly and tries to comfort her expecting her to know. Lilly guesses that something has happened to Megan and goes over to Bob who tells her what happened.
- She wants to see the body but is restrained by Gabe. The Governor tells him to let her go and she goes over to see her friend. Megan reanimates and Philip tells Bruce to let Lilly put her down. Lilly can't bring herself to do it. Megan goes for Lilly's neck but is shot by Bob before she could bite.
- Over the next few days nobody notices the changing weather.
- Bob drinks himself to death.
- Lilly makes burial arrangements for Megan.
- The Governor prepares for the next arena fight and gets Gabe and Bruce to chop up bodies for the captive biters.
- Barry Gooden rants about the changing weather from the National Weather Service outside Peach Tree City which is still limping along on backup generators. He rants about the blizzard of '93 and the floods of 2009* to anyone who will listen.

*The novel series takes place in 2012 however there's no evidence for this anywhere outside this novel.
