10 nov 1879 - Griqualand East and West

Description:

With the British more focused on activities in Vesperia and Australia, they put less effort in the negotiations with the Cape Colony to annex Griqualand East and Griqualand West.

As a result, these colonies remain under Direct British control. In 1895, British Bechuanaland was transferred to the Griqualand West Colony.

Without the lands of East Griqualand, the Cape Colony expresses the same hesitance to annex Pondoland, which in turn allows for the continued separation of Pondoland as its own colony.
