Description:
Responding to the Berlin Blockade, and the cut off rail roads, roads and supply of electricity it presented, the Western Allies introduced the Berlin Airlift, in order to support those barricaded by the blockade.People of West Berlin would be supplied goods via aircraft, goods such as medicine, food, water and for security measures, 60 long-range bombers. These bombers acted as a deterrent for the Soviet Union to counteract the Airlift.
