23 juin 1948 - Berlin Blockade
is created
Description:
The Soviets respond to the creation of the FRG, through the Berlin Blockade. They imposed such feeling that this would cause Western Allies to abandon Germany and Berlin altogether.
The Soviets would go on to restrict the movement of Western Berliners and Germans. Their reasons behind such actions were that they did not want their Otsmark, being devalued by the newly introduced Deutschmark of West Germany/Berlin.
And so, they cut off rail roads, roads and the supply of electricity between both parts of Berlin.
