Description:
Tsar Nicholas II abdicated the throne on March 2, 1917.
This occurred because after the 1917 February revolution, the new government that had just formed told him to. In addition, his generals told him it was the only way to save the country from Germany.
A provisional government was formed who worked with the soviets as well.
