The death of the communist Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping caused riots throughout China. Deng Xiaoping was a successful Chinese leader, improving the economic, social, and political status of China. Riots and bombings were started in Xinjiang and Yining injuring 74 civilians and killing 9. Xinjiang was mainly targeted for their high number in Muslims and ethnic minorities.
