The First Continental Congress was formed when 50 leaders from 12 of the colonies met in Philidelphia. Wanting to unite the colonies further, a leader from Virginia, Patrick Henry, said, “I am not a Virginian, but an American.” Not everyone agreed with him, some at the meeting were even loyalists, but they all hated tyranny.
