The new amendment gave all American Women the right to vote. Women worked hard to get this right, they petitioned, lectured, wrote, marched, lobbied, and practiced civil disobedience. They had protested for almost a century. Important women were Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Susan B. Anthony.
