Description:

The British were attempting to decrease inflation by banning the colonial currency and replacing with gold and silver. There were various specie used in the colonies which led to the passing of this act. The colonists weren't very happy because they had a lack of gold and silver to begin with(because of the war) and it seemed impossible to move towards a currency which there was a lack of. Therefore, there was a lot of justified resentment.
