19 avr. 1775 - Battles of Lexington And Concord

Description:

Just before the battles of Lexington and Concord, the Minutemen (Colonial farmers and citizens who were ready to fight) started gaining arms and preparing for combat. General Thomas Gage though his army may be insufficient to fight, but was convinced that the Colonists would not have the guts to fight back. At first he hesitated to attack, only to go after hearing about a gunpowder stockpile in Lexington. He sent 1000 soldiers from Boston to Lexington. No one knows who did, but either the minutemen or the British shot first, some of the colonists dying. Once the British reached Lexington, most of the gunpowder was already taken out, so the British burned what was left. There were 3 times the amount of British casualties than Colonial casualties.
