5 avr. 1764 - Sugar Act of 1764
Description:
The sugar act was created as many people didn't like the high taxes of the Molasses act (which was in 1733), killing it and replacing it with this new act. This act halved the taxes of the previous, but increased what was taxed, such as wines and coffee. Alongside this, the law actually was enforced, with law breakers having to be put to court in Britain rather than in the colonies. Many colonists started boycotting British goods as a result of this act.
