18 mars 1766 - Repeal of Stamp Act / Passage of Declaratory Act
Description:
Colonists cried “no taxation without representation” which lead to colonial boycotts and protest. The Declaratory Act was then passed alongside the repeal of the Stamp Act to assert dominance over American colonies in “all cases whatsoever”. However, Colonists wanted a measure of sovereignty on their own and were happy when the Stamp Act was repealed, but they did not realize what trouble was to arrive in the near future.
