19 avr. 1775 - Battle of Lexington and Concord
April 19th 1775
Description:
on April 19th of 1775, the battle of Lexington and Concord kicked off the start of the American Revolutionary War.
The British rationale was they needed to seize and take the gunpowder that was stashed there.
The colonial reaction was the gestation of Thomas Paine's "Common Sense". Thomas Paine fervently talked about moral and political arguments persuasively and encouraged people to fight for equal government. This caused questions such as why control America and assessed the necessity of independence.
