31 mars 1774 - Coercive or "Intolerable" Acts March 31st 1774

Description:

On march 31st of 1774, British Parliament passed the Coercive acts in response to the Boston Tea Party. British rationale was that they needed to reestablish and affirm their authority and reprimand Boston.
The colonists once again boycotted but they also had the Convening First Continental Congress. The rationale was that congress needed to formulate ideas and ways to deal with colonial grievances. Alongside that, the Appalachian land was taken and they were panicked.

There were 5 Intolerable Acts. The first one was on March 31st, the second and third one were on May 20th, the fourth one was on June 6th, and the fifth one was on June 22nd.
