18 mars 1766 - Repeal of the Stamp Act and the passage of the Decaratory Acts March 18th 1766

Description:

British Parliament repealed the stamp act because they rationalized that there were too many protests and rebellions, as well as vehement resentment. After it was repealed, the Declaratory Act was passed on the 18th of March. It was the changing and lessening of the sugar act. Parliament passed this act after repealing the stamp act because they needed to bolster and strengthen the authority of the British Parliament again.
Colonial reaction to the repeal was rejoice but they ignored the Declaratory act because they desired to have their own sovereignty.
