20 mai 1774 - COERCIVE/INTOLERABLE ACTS
May 20, 1774
Description:
The British were outraged at the colonists for throwing tea into the harbor thus creating this act. This act restricted self-government, closed the ports of Boston, and expanded Catholicism. The colonists were OUTRAGED. This law added justifications to rebel against the British. The colonists also created the First Contential Congress which rejected colonial union under the British authority, endorsed a statement of grievances, prepared military troops for defense in case the British attacked and agreed to non -importation.
