Description:
-Tin is extracted from its ore by roasting the mineral cassiterite with carbon in a furnace to approximately 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. The next step involves leaching with acid or water solutions to remove impurities
--Discovered in the Stone age
The Stone Age was a prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make weaponry and other tools. The period lasted roughly 3.4 million years and ended between 8700 BCE and 2000 BC.
-Tin has many uses. It takes a high polish and is used to coat other metals to prevent corrosion, such as in tin cans, which are made of tin-coated steel.
Tin also has to go through a chemical extraction process.
