1 avr. 1928 - Cinematograph Films Act 1927

Description:

The Cinematograph films Act of 1927 made it so 7.5% to 20% of all films shown in cinemas have to be British. This was to increase the amount of quality filmmaking in the UK.

This act was not seen as a success, with Quota Quickies; these were low quality and low cost films that was created to satisfy the quota requirements.

This is significant as this act shaped British cinema, usually in a negative way.
