1 janv. 1914 - "Safety through Sobriety"

Description:

During the early 1900's, many states passed worker-compensation laws. These laws established that corporations would have to compensate workers that were injured in industrial accidents. However, in 1914, the National Safety Council decided that alcohol consumption was at fault for these industrial accidents and they imposed a "safety through sobriety" outlook in the workplace. Employers' attitudes towards alcohol added to the push towards prohibition.
