Description:

Supreme Court decision that had implications that slaves were property and thus may be taken anywhere which overrides the Missouri Compromise and that slaves aren't citizens and thus cant even bring bring anything to trial.
This cause contributed to the lead up of the civil because the slaves were not treated as people and they now had federal laws that discriminated against them, this got them more upset and riled up to fight for their rights.
