The Americans with Disabilities Act, or the ADA was passed in 1990 to ensure that people with disabilities are given the same rights and opportunities as other American residents.
The Supreme Court, however, practiced their power given by the 11th Amendment by removing one aspect of the bill that gave the right for individuals to sue states for damages.
