Description:
Women had no rights as a married person. Women were considered to be a man’s property. They were like a coverture child or a slave. Even if they became widowed they did not have any right to the children that she had. If a woman were left money by her husband or father, that money did not go to her but was placed in a trust fund to later be given to her sons.
