30 nov 1380 - English Peasants Revolt
Description:
Due to decreased labor supply and demands for higher wages, nobles passed the Statute of Laborers that froze wages and bound workers to their manors. Peasants were frustrated by the constraints placed on them and combined with the decades of class warfare, thousands of people assaulted tax collectors and the rich. While the rebellion was quashed by Richard II and his false promises, the nobles were never able to restore serfdom, leading to the decline of serfdom.
