1 janv. 1801 - Lamarck states his theory of evolution
Description:
He proposed that organisms change through use and disuse of different organs. Those used more would increase in size, and those used less would decrease. He believed life was originally created by divine creation, but became more complex over time by natural processes. This idea of random, non-divine change was widely rejected by most naturalists of his day. Despite being fundamentally wrong, he is credited with envisioning the concept of evolution for the first time.
