Description:

In the aftermath of the September 10 quake, the river will be contaminated with low levels of hydrogen sulfide. It will have a strong “rotten egg” odor, unpleasant taste, and can cause irritation to eyes, skin, and have other health effects. The river is the main water source for all village buildings.

On September 11, two volunteers will discover a small freshwater spring in the far southwest of the canyon. The area immediately surrounding the spring will be extremely lush, with plants seeming fuller and more green than in the surrounding forest. The thread between the volunteer explorer characters is to establish the spring is there; it can be assumed afterward that they’ve passed along the information to the rest of the village.

Regular consumption of the spring water for a week or longer will result in characters seeming more vital, having more energy and improved complexion, shinier hair, fewer aches, and injuries which heal faster. This requires regular, daily intake.
