Hume wrote Enquiry concerning the Principles of Morals. He believed that humans have a natural inclination to promote and think about the well being of others in their decision making process. In addition to this he holds the belief that humans have two types of passion, self-regarding sentiments and other-regarding sentiments. Hume believes that moral development needs to cultivate both and encourage a balance (Wren, 2014).
