President Bush signed the Medicare Prescription Drug,
Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (known as MMA)
into law. MMA made the most significant
changes in the Medicare program since it’s enactment in 1965.
Changes include an outpatient prescription drug benefit starting in 2006,
a prescription drug discount card available in the interim,
new preventive benefits, and many other changes.
