The abacus was the first computing device, allegedly created in Iraq, (formerly Babylonia) roughly 4500-5000 years agoThis continued to be the inspiration for many millenia of technological innovation, this was the first instance of a device that could display computational information, which gave so much potential to the idea of the computing device.
