Description:

Haitian occupation by the U.S. led to the repercussion of the Great Depression hitting Haiti directly. But by 1930, the nation of Haiti had already begun to slowly recover. Due to president Borno’s amiability to American interests and financial aptitude and wary to continue to micromanage Haiti, the United States relinquished control over Haitian government finances years before the ultimate withdrawal.
