11 juill. 1771 - Daniel Boone's "Yahoo"

Description:

Daniel Boone, famous explorer while exploring Kentucky reported that he shot and killed a "Yahoo", who were a race of 10 ft tall hairy giants. He killed it in the Great Smokey Mountains and took three shots by a musket for it to fall down. Daniel Boone referring to bigfoots as "yahoos" probably comes from the Cherokee "Yeahoh". From 1767 to 1772 he was visiting Kentucky and met various Native Americans who were mainly Cherokee, so he probably just butchered how to pronounce it.
