1 juill. 1990 - Glasnost and Perestroika
Description:
To reform the distraught Soviet Union, the democratization of the Communist Party was promoted through Party Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev's policies of “perestroika” and “glasnost.” Perestroika refers to the reconstruction of the political and economic system established by the Communist Party and Glasnost means 'openness' and refers to government transparency and increased freedom of expression. The two reforms are really important because it allows the Russian citizens to openly discussed their history, also dissidents were freed from prison and exile and people were allowed to openly criticise the government and society.
