With his renown, he lectured across the country sharing his contemporary philosophies. Publishing his most famous lectures in Society and Solitude, Emerson argued for a balance between individuals and society. Making Christianity look outdated, Emerson presented a modern philosophy more in line with the democratic values of the nation.
