Description:

In those amendments, Congress declared that “the education of children with disabilities can be made more effective by . . . strengthening the role and responsibilities of parents and ensuring that families (of children with disabilities) have meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their children at school and home” 20 U.S.C. Sec. 1400 (c)(5)(B) (Turnbull, A., Turnbull, R., Erwin, Soodak, & Shogren, 2015, p. 131).
