the long struggle for domination of English government between Parliament and the crown reached its culmination in the Glorious Revolution, which established parliamentary supremacy once and for all and secured the Protestant succession to the throne. Throughout English America the Glorious Revolution powerfully reinforced among the colo nists the sense of sharing a proud legacy of freedom and Protestantism with the mother country.
