Description:
Hungarians sparked a revolt against their communist government. In a matter of two weeks, the state police was disbanded and a new government was instituted. The Soviets marched in with tanks to attempt to bring back the communist government in Hungary. Hundreds of Hungarian citizens and Soviet troops were killed. By January 1957, a new Soviet-installed government suppressed all public opposition.
