The Battle of Gully Ravine was a battle fought at Cape Helles on the Gallipoli peninsula. This attack had limited objectives. The third battle of Krithia had made some progress but had failed on the west end along the Gully Spur and Gully Ravine as well as on the east where the Frech were confronted by a number of strong Ottoman redoubts. The commander at Helles ordered sperate and limited attacks to advance. The Gully Ravine attack was successful at achieving its objective, however, suffered high casualties. Helles was finally evacuated on January 8, 1916.
