1 janv. 1725 - Stereotyping - Scotland 1725
Description:
Invented by William Ged. This method was used in many prints runs enabling newspapers to thrive in society. A dried mat is used as mould to cast the stereotype from a hot metal. Over time this method has been gradually replaced by lithographic plating and photosensitive plastics which is a more a durable alternative than using Papier Mache.
