The Panther's Free Breakfast for School Children Program first started in January of 1969. This program was meant to help black students who couldn't afford food. They wanted the students to have enough energy to perform well in school. Even though the group saw some light with this program they saw more dark when Bobby seale was arrested. Another thing the BBP did to help local children was to make the Oakland community school.
