On black tuesday the stock market sky rocketed downward millions of dollars evaporated, and people lost everything. The effect of the crash took out many banks, and in turn wipped out everything that had been bought on credit This meant many people lost there homes, jobs, and stores leaving many people completley bankrupt. This lead to the great depression because no one had any money or infastucture as the bank kept taking anything they could to make up for what they'd lost.
