Causes:
-Cattle barons suffered great losses in the winter of 1886-7.
-Smaller ranches survived with minimal losses.
-Rustling had always been a problem, but in the current situation, the barons wanted to put a stop to it.
Events:
-A list of 70 people the barons wanted dead was created and hired gunmen were sent out.
-The county had been notified and were ready to fight and the US cavalry arrived and fought them off.
-After a trial, none of the barons had been convicted. They tried to drag the trial out as long as possible so the prosecutors couldn't afford to continue.
