1 janv. 900 - 900 - Earilest Form of Polyphonic Notation
Description:
Polyphonic, in musical thinking is when music incorporates two separate melody's independent of each other in some form. Instead of having a single unified melody, or melody driven by chords. This 10th Century piece was discovered in Germany, and is called a "Organum", which is an early form of Polyphonic Notation. It's composer is currently unknown, and while at the time not groundbreaking, it still shows how musical composure is a changing form. Though. It should be noted that it was not fully Polyphonic, as it was a form of two-part organum (polyphony in which a plainchant melody is sung against another line of music) It wouldn't be til Perotin the Great, where Polyphonic Music in true form would emerge in Western Europe.
