Jim Jones tells the people at the commune that they all have to commit suicide. At first everyone is confused but Jim tells them that the congressman is dead and that the American and Guyana governments will be coming to take their children away to brainwash and kill them. This changed most peoples mind and they decided that they would go along with the suicide. Attached is a forty minute video called the "Death Tape" The audio is Jim Jones talking his followers into drinking the kool-aid. The first people to die were the children, as they were fed the cyanide laced drink first. Then the adults drank it and over 900 people died. Jim Jones was found with a gun shot wound to the head, although it is unknown if the wound was self inflicted. After 47 years of lead up, these people were lead to their final resting place by the fanatical Jim Jones.
